As a CBL Franchise/Licensee we give you all the support that you will need to be successful from the very start. All you have to do is go out and recruit sponsors and players for your league and semi-pro team. We are confident in our system because we only allow a LIMITED! number of people to start a CBL operation per year.
In 1996 Jamar Johnson, Chief Commissioner and CEO of the Community Basketball Leagues, created the concept of having a professionally structured basketball league for amateur adult players. The first CBL league was officially launched in 2008 in Elkhart, IN, a city that had 18 to 22% unemployment and is the hometown of the CBL Chief Commissioner. At the start of the 2009 CBL adult league there was a waiting list of thirty-two players! Even in one of the country's worst economies the CBL was a smash hit and soon there was a demand by others to bring the CBL to their cities.
This CBL Franchise/Licensee program is the answer to that demand and it is an opportunity for others to get into a professional sports business. It does not matter what your professional or career background may be in because the CBL Licensee program will provide you with everything you need to be successful. The only thing the CBL requires from its Licensee/Franchisee is a passion for basketball and a desire to be successful in life and business.
Today the CBL has two other leagues within the licensee program (CBL Jr. and CBL 40 leagues) to compliment its flagship adult league. The CBL youth league is for boys and girls ages six through sixteen, the CBL adult league is for men and women ages seventeen and up, and the CBL 40 league is for players that are over the age of forty years of age.

It only takes 5 to 8 months to get a CBL franchise up and running. Additional cost (i.e. office space, equipment, etc.) for running a CBL franchise should be consulted with the CBL corporate office.
